How to Care for Your Face

You may have been taught as a man that washing your face with soap and drying it are the only steps to take for good skincare. You don’t need to take a lot of time to care for your skin. However, adding a few extra steps to your routine will make a huge difference if your goal is healthy-looking skin. Your skin will look and feel great after cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing. Care for your beard if you have one

Choose a cleanser that suits your skin type.

A good cleanser will deep clean your pores and remove any debris that could lead to blemishes. You shouldn’t use just bar soap for your skin. This can dry out your skin and cause it to flake or cause irritation. Instead, you should look for a cleanser that contains natural cleansing ingredients and is tailored to your skin type.

  • Oil cleansing is a natural way to clean your skin. Although it may sound counterintuitive, oil cleansing your skin with a mixture of natural oils will remove dirt and other impurities without irritating your skin. This combination of natural oils is a great choice for anyone with any skin type, particularly if you have severe acne.
  • If you have dry skin, wash your face with a cream or cleansing milk.
  • If you have combination or normal skin, use a gel cleanser.
  • You can choose to purchase a cleanser containing ingredients that are specifically designed for treating acne. They are antibacterial and effective in treating acne.

Wash your face at least once per day

Your skin can become dry if you wash it more than once per day. You can choose to clean your skin once a day or twice a week, but not both. You can refresh your skin with cool or lukewarm warm water without the use of a cleanser.

  • Use cool water. Use cool or lukewarm water to avoid drying your skin.
  • Avoid using facial cleanser if you have a beard. Use mild shampoo to wash your beard 2-4 times per week. Use Jericho Australia beard balms or oil to finish the job.
  • Instead of using a towel to scrub your face, pat it dry. Your facial skin will become looser if you handle it rough.
  • For facial hair, apply men’s face wash to the skin under your hair.

Avoid applying sunscreen to your skin before you go to bed. If you leave sunscreen on your skin for too long, it could cause breakouts.

Exfoliate Every few days.

A facial scrub or facial brush can be used every other day to remove dead skin and dirt. This helps prepare your skin for shaving. It softens the hair and skin and makes it easier to shave.

  • Use a scrub to exfoliate your skin. Make a gentle circular motion, and then rinse off the scrub.
  • Another effective method to exfoliate is with a dry facial brush. Make sure you get a brush that is designed for the face. Use the brush to scrub away any dead skin before you wash your face. The brush won’t work well on wet skin if it isn’t dry.

Use a daily moisturizer.

It doesn’t matter if you are using a cream or light oil; moisturizing your skin daily after washing is a smart idea. This will keep your skin supple and prevent itching. Make sure you choose the right moisturizer for your skin.

  • You can use a moisturizer that contains olive oil, argan oil, and shea butter if your skin is dry.
  • Choose a moisturizer that has lighter ingredients if your skin is oily. It won’t stick to your skin for the entire day.
  • Beard oil is a good option if you have facial hair.
